Tevar is a great movie which talks about a person, who has forgotten her past and is currently living with an unknown identity. The movie also shows the story of two people, one who faces his own past and tries his best to find out who exactly she is. In order to do that he takes up a different perspective of her life from the perspective of others, that way unraveling secrets from others' perspectives as well. The movie tells the story from two different perspectives, one from Didi's point-of-view and one from Gappy's point-of-view. While telling the story it revolves around three main themes: identity theft, love triangles, and loss. The story begins with the marriage of Radhika Apte to one of the most powerful men in India. She is daughter of a very rich businessman, who has given her everything she needed all her life, so she is very naïve and simple-minded. After the marriage she gets into an accident that wipes out all her memories of everything that ever happened before that day. Then after three years Radhika's dad dies, leaving lots of wealth for Radhika to manage. One day while she goes shopping with her husband Didi sees Gappa (Rakesh Bapat) trying to steal money from the car of Mr. Dhondiyal (Manav Kaul). Gappa is chased by the police and loses his Jeep. While he runs away he sees Radhika, who knocks him out unconscious with her car. Gappa comes to her mansion asking for help because he has no idea of where is home. He tells her that after his Jeep has been stolen, she hit him on the head, causing him to lose consciousness. Didi doesn't think that Gappa knows about her past life so she takes him in as one of their Servants and gives him the name Gappy (Vidyut Jammwal). Didi also isn't suspicious of any kind of truth in his words because she thinks that this name is similar to Gappa (which means Merchant). Later, when the truth about Didi's past is revealed to her, she loses all her wealth because she lacks the wit to find a way to get it back. Gappa also only has enough money only to last him for three days, so he goes out in search of a job. Meanwhile after a while, Gappa meets a woman named Sandhya (Namita Thakur) and falls in love with her. He also makes friends with Gopal (Parth Bhalerao), an orphan from Uganda who loves cars and enjoys driving them very much. They both go out every day and collect money from the villagers to buy new cars; Gappa buys a brand new jeep and they spend lots of money in which Gopal gets very impatient and feels that his life in India is not worth living anymore. Gopa also tells Sandhya about his past life and she convinces him to forget it all and start a new life. A few days later, when the hard times come in India, they lose all their money for which they have no alternate way of getting any.
